On the afternoon of December 29, 2022, the founding ceremony of the Student Union of Shanxi University of Finance and Economics of the Chinese Computer Society (CCF) was successfully held online. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Li Jie from the School of Information at Shanxi University of Finance and Economics. Professor Wang Changdong, the leader of the CCF Student Branch Working Group, Professor Guo Yinzhang, the chairman of the CCF Taiyuan Branch, Professor Wei Wei, the chairman of the Youth Science and Technology Forum Taiyuan Branch of the Chinese Computer Society, and the entire leadership team of the School of Information at Shanxi University of Finance and Economics, as well as some teachers and student members, attended the meeting.
Firstly, Wang Changdong delivered a speech on behalf of the CCF Student Union Working Group, providing a detailed introduction to the history, membership rights, and responsibilities of CCF, and congratulating the establishment of the Student Union of Shanxi University of Finance and Economics. Secondly, Guo Yinzhang, chairman of CCF Taiyuan Branch, encouraged members to make good use of CCF's abundant resources, continuously improve their professional level, fully utilize the academic exchange platform provided by CCF, and promote the faster and better development of the Student Union in his speech. Subsequently, Wei Wei, the chairman of the Taiyuan Sub Forum, mentioned in his speech that he hoped that the Student Union of Shanxi University of Finance and Economics of CCF could strengthen communication with the Student Union of major universities, jointly promote the development of the CCF Student Union, and provide a detailed introduction to the Urban Sub Forum of the Youth Science and Technology Forum of the Chinese Computer Society. He hoped that young teachers from Shanxi University of Finance and Economics could actively participate, seek more opportunities and greater development space. Finally, Dr. Gao Ping, secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Information Technology, gave a welcome speech, introducing the construction of disciplines and majors in the School of Information Technology. She also proposed that the University of Finance and Economics should closely follow the pace of universities, fully utilize the CCF Student Union, expand academic exchanges, and improve the quality of talent cultivation.
During the election campaign, each candidate delivered a brilliant speech, explaining their understanding of the CCF Student Union, proposing a construction plan on how they will contribute to the CCF Student Union after being elected, and received questions from attendees during the questioning session. After on-site voting, Hu Kaicheng was elected as the current chairman of the Student Union of CCF Shanxi University of Finance and Economics, Qin Gan was elected as the interim chairman of the Student Union of CCF Shanxi University of Finance and Economics, and three classmates including Bian Rui, Yu Jiawei, and Liu Bipu were elected as executive members of the Student Union of CCF Shanxi University of Finance and Economics.
The successful convening of this founding conference means that the Student Union of CCF Shanxi University of Finance and Economics will become the 71st CCF Student Union in China and the 5th Student Union in Shanxi region. In the future, the Student Union will focus on the development trend of the computer field, fully leverage the advantages of schools and disciplines, integrate resources from all parties, carry out a series of activities such as academic lectures, research forums, academic tea parties, teacher-student exchange meetings, and entering IT enterprises, broaden students' professional horizons, improve their academic research level, enhance communication and cooperation with leaders in various fields, and recruit talents, make every effort to enhance the influence of the school and carry out distinctive, innovative, emotional, and practical learning activities.
It is reported that CCF carries out over300 activities every year, and CCF student members can participate for free. The work plan of the Student Union includes CCF Computer Software Ability Certification, CCF Excellent College Student Academic Show, Lectures on Comprehensive Student Ability Development (for teachers), Comprehensive Student Ability Development Lectures (for outstanding students), and Lectures on Professional Student Ability Development.
