Meadow @ 9 Months Old….and my one year blogiversary?!?! Holy Cow!
Tumblr world, you have been great to me. I cannot believe it has been one whole year! When we first picked up our lives in Philadelphia and headed down to South Florida pregnant with Number 2 and in the start of hurricane season, I didn’t really know if I could make it here without my friends and support system up north. Tumblr really gave me that community I needed. Thank you - Happy Blogiversary!!!
Oh Meadow, I can’t believe your 9 months old!!! What is going on in this house. You are growing and changing way too fast. It’s hard on Momma, but I hope you know I love you and your sister so much and I am enjoying every moment I have with you! OK, there are some moments I want to crawl under the covers and hide, but most days, you girls are a joy. Here is a peak at what you’ve been up to:
Crawling, standing, cruising…you are a pro. You are like a hyperactive crazy smiley baby. You can’t even nurse without trying to roll over on your tummy and bounce your butt in the air. Today you decided you wanted to start jumping like your big sister. Seriously, kid -jumping is for big kids. Lets wait till you can walk first…jeeesh!
Still the happiest kid in the world. We haven’t gotten to you yet, but we aren’t giving up yet.
You are a feisty bugger. Whenever I tell you “No”, you smirk at me and usually finish what you were doing. If your sister yells at you, you start screaming and smiling. It annoys her so much. Its honestly the one thing I have to stop myself from laughing hysterically at. You may give up toys easily, but when you really want something you hold on for dear life and really put up a fight….no tears though.
Real food for you! You never were into those baby purees, except sweet potatoes. Your favorite foods nowadays: Bananas, bread, cheerios, yogurt, carrots, sweet potatoes, Pirate Booty, and anything your sister is eating. You are a picky meat eater, just like your mom. Today I gave you turkey and it ended up on your head…although so did the bread you were eating…maybe you were just making a sandwich?
You love the water. FINALLY, we go you into our pool which is clean and you LOVE IT! You just chill out and chew daddy’s snorkel mask.
Sleep? Who needs that?! You are still waking up once or twice a night. We did sleep train you which has worked great for putting you to bed, but its not exactly possible to do that in the middle of the night when we sleep in the same room and you can stand in your cot and look at us….and touch our feet. Ya, we have a bit of a sleeping situation, but hey, we are surviving. Someday, we will get our act together and figure it all out. Until then, I hope you enjoy our company because it won’t last forever baby! ;)
You adore your sister…even when she is smashing your face into the ground, you are smiling!
You do tricks! We have currently trained you to shake your head back and forth when we ask you a question or we repeat the word “NO”. You don’t know what it means exactly yet, but you are really into it.
You are fearless. You crawl over the edge of the bed (don’t worry we catch you). You try to drink your sister’s pee in her potty. You even succeeded once when Daddy was “watching” you. You try to eat everything except, of course, baby food. One time, I noticed you were afraid of this little toy bunny that made a “boooiiiiing” sound. You crawled over to me in a panic and cuddled in my lap. It was the cutest thing. Then one second later you grabbed it by the ear and chucked it.
Love you monkey.
Haven claims her cereal was talking to her. Meadow isn’t buying it.
So I am not one who is all for baby gadgets designed to do a better job then something you already have/can do without spending money on something new, BUT I have been borrowing my friends Beaba baby food cooker…and I do like it…A LOT. It makes the whole process so much easier! Just throw some food in (frozen or fresh), add the water, and boom done! It stops itself when its done, so you won’t over cook food. It keeps the food and water separated so things don’t get soggy, but you can easily combine them after and press the mix button and it blends it very nicely.
I pour it into ice cube trays so I can freeze it in smaller serving sizes afterward. Its easy to clean too!
I’m really glad our awesome friend Kristen let us borrow this. In fact, if we owned one I would still use it even after baby food stage-so my vote is a YES on this one :)
